PayContactless Business App Manual

After downloading and installing the PayContactless Business application, user launches the app and sees the screen below:

For a new merchant user, he/she needs to register to have a PayContactless account by following the steps below:

1. Merchant clicks “register”
2. Merchant submits their personal information by doing the following:

• Select country code from dropdown
• Enter Phone Number
• Enter First Name
• Enter Last Name
• Enter valid Email Address

3. Merchant sets up their business by submitting the requested business details.

• Providing their business registration status.

Merchants who have unregistered businesses will select Small Business

Merchants who have registered businesses will select Large Business

For a small business;

• Merchant submits a valid ID. This could be a passport, drivers license or national identification number. There is also an option to skip this and submit the valid ID later.
• If merchant selects passport. Merchant will enter the Document Number or upload the passport as a file.
• If merchant selects drivers license. Merchant will enter the Document Number, or upload the drivers license as a file
• If merchant selects National Identification Number. Merchant will enter their NIN, or upload the NIN document as a file.
• Merchant proceeds to verify BVN. The BVN entered is to be the personal BVN of the merchant, which is linked to their Bank Account that would be used to set up their PayContactless account.

For a large business;

• Merchant submits a valid ID of the member(s) of the principal directors. This could be a passport, drivers license or national identification number. There is also an option to skip this and submit the valid ID later.
• If merchant selects passport. Merchant will enter the Document Number or upload the passport as a file. If there is more than one director, merchant will upload their ID by clicking “Add Director”.
• If merchant selects drivers license. Merchant will enter the Document Number, or upload the drivers license as a file. If there is more than one director, merchant will upload their ID by clicking “Add Director”.
• If merchant selects National Identification Number. Merchant will enter their NIN, or upload the NIN document as a file. If there is more than one director, merchant will upload their ID by clicking “Add Director”.
• Merchant uploads Company Document. This will require the merchant to enter the RC Number or upload the company’s document. There is an option to skip this and submit the company document later.
• Merchant uploads a Proof of Address. Merchant can select any of the documents from the dropdown list that they choose to submit e.g. utility bill, water bill etc. The documented uploaded must not be later than 3 months.
• Merchant proceeds to submit the BVN of the Principal Director(s). If there is more than one director, merchant will submit their BVN by clicking “Add Director”.

The merchant initiates payment by inputting a price and specifying the currency type.

Send Request Contactless

• The merchant selects on “Pay with account” and waits till the customer accepts request on his device.

Tap To Pay

• The customer taps his/her contactless card on the merchants phone, then enters the card pin. After which a receipt appears stating if the transaction was successful or not..
• Customer can choose to manually enter the card details into the merchant app.

Hold Fund

• The merchant can choose to hold a specific amount of fund by requesting it, and the customer would pay using tap to pay with their card.

Release fund

• The merchant can request for fund to be released by selecting “Release Fund”, entering transaction code, specifying the amount to be released and then using “tap to pay” with their card.

• Merchant enters the transaction code for the goods to be refunded and confirms the card number and account.
• The merchant then selects if he want to make a full or partial refund.
• After the refund type is selected, the customer taps card to phone and enters card pin.

• The merchant can view and find all failed, reversed and successful transactions.

‍

• On the merchants profile, he or she is allowed to change the email, password, language, currency or even the personnel documents previously uploaded.

Create Store Attendant

• The merchant inputs personal details of the store attendant such as: First Name, Last name and phone number of store attendant.  
• The merchant is also permitted to assign the store attendant to an outlet.

‍

When store attendant is created, an OTP is sent to the attendant via SMS. This will be used as a one-time password for the attendant to log into their account.

When the store attendant logs in with that code, they are prompted to set their password.

In the event that the attendant does not log in with the code in 24 hours, the code expires. The attendant will therefore need to request their admin to resend an OTP which they will use to log in and set their password.

Manage Store Attendant

• The merchant is permitted to disable store attendant and delete them permanently.

Delete staff

1. The merchant can decide to:

• Delete staff: This means the attendant will no longer be able to login or accept payments on behalf on the business. Although, the transaction history would not be deleted
• Disable staff: The store attendant would be able to login but would not be able to accept payments on behalf of the business.
• Reset pin: The sales attendant will be able to receive a new Pin via SMS.

Bluetooth Denied

• A popup notification appears when a merchant is tries to initiate contactless payment without enabling bluetooth on the device.

‍

Mobile Data Off

• A popup notification appears when a merchant tries to initiate contactless payment without enabling internet access on the device.

‍

‍

Print Clicked

• A popup notification appears when a merchant tries to print payment receipt without having a  compatible printer.

‍

• The merchant can view all transactions made by all store attendants under his/her business.
• The merchant can also choose to filter/sort transaction summary based on currency.
